Holy Mother of God, the banisher of evil thoughts

By creating the blog, we at the Orthodox Store "Agios" set out with the idea of ​​publishing stories of Holy images, not very well known, but miraculous and helping to this day to anyone who, with faith and trust, resorts to them for help.

We had a hard time deciding which icon to start with first, because for us, each image is glorified with many miracles and is unique in itself.

We live in a world filled with malice and hatred, envy and greed, which each of us faces in our daily lives, but in this world we also have comfort, joy, hope. Let us not forget the Virgin Mary as our first helper and guardian.

Her miraculous image is for protection and defense from all evil, especially from our evil thoughts, inspired by the evil one.

This icon is little known in Bulgaria. It recalls the exodus of the Jews from Egypt and two of the great difficulties they faced. The crossing of the Red Sea and the sinking of the Pharaoh and his army are compared to the Most Holy Theotokos. Therefore, the inscription on the icon begins with: "Rejoice, you who are the sea that drowned not the human Pharaoh, but the imaginary Pharaoh, the world ruler of this world, the devil and his spirit, who pursues people to return them to the slavery of evil and death."

For this reason, we turn for help to this Holy image of the Mother of God, to give us the wisdom to understand the spirit of this world, to deliver us from the snares of the evil one, to protect us from evil people, to protect and save us.
